How It Works
Years ago, I had two children. Along the way, we shared countless learning adventures—some planned, some completely unexpected. Then I became a teacher, worked with children of all abilities, and spent decades studying how people learn.
Fast forward nearly 50 years...
Here's the good news:
All three of us learned to read and write!
Seriously, though, I've been fortunate to spend a lifetime watching children learn. Along the way, I discovered some simple ideas that can make learning easier, less stressful, and a lot more fun. I'd love to share those ideas with you.
Maybe you have a child who is just beginning to explore books. Maybe you have a preschooler, a beginning reader, or a child who learns differently and needs a little extra support. Wherever your child is on the journey, I hope you'll find encouragement, practical ideas, and a few "Aha!" moments here at Fun2Read.
Fun2Read isn't just a collection of books. It's a way of thinking about learning.
Children learn best when they are curious, engaged, and having fun. That's why our books combine reading with coloring, drawing, matching activities, movement, music, games, and hands-on practice. Learning becomes an adventure instead of a chore.
Throughout this website, you'll also find Tipsy Tips—short stories, practical suggestions, and lessons I've learned from decades of teaching, raising children, and helping students who struggled to learn. Sometimes the smallest idea can make the biggest difference.
You may also be wondering ... what's music got to do with it?
Music is one of the brain's most powerful learning tools. Rhythm, repetition, rhyme, and melody help children remember information, recognize patterns, and build confidence. That's why you'll see music woven throughout the Fun2Read program whenever it can make learning easier and more enjoyable.
So why are you here?
Perhaps someone in your family is ready to learn something new. Maybe they're an early learner, a preschooler, a beginning reader, or someone with identified learning challenges. Whatever brought you here, welcome!
Our first book set, The Pick & Stick Kids Go to School, is designed to do more than teach reading skills. As children interact with the books, activities, and stickers, you'll begin to notice how they learn. Do they enjoy listening? Moving? Coloring? Repeating? Solving puzzles? Working independently? Asking questions?
These little clues can give you valuable insights into your child's unique learning style, pace, and strengths.
Most of all, I hope Fun2Read helps you create something even more valuable than reading skills—happy memories of learning together.
Welcome to Fun2Read!
